Kana Takeuchi
Pianist
Kana Takeuchi comes from Nara, Japan. She began her artistic training at the age of five and studied until adulthood with Mitsuko Mimura, Hiroko Orita, Mayumi Inoue, Akiko Sato and Wigbert Traxler, among others. From 2007 to 2011 she completed her Bachelor's Degree in Music with focus on piano at the Doshisha Women's College of Liberal Arts in Kyoto with Akiko Sato. In 2014 she completed her master's degree in piano with distinction at the Hochschule für Musik Mainz with Prof. Oscar Vetre and in 2017 she passed her concert exam with Prof. Heinz Zarbock.
She was a prize winner of the Japanese competition "Japan Piano Teachers Association" in 2006 and 2009, followed by further prizes at national and international piano competitions in Japan during her studies. In 2013 she received the Steinway Sponsorship Award in Frankfurt am Main. In 2016 she became a prizewinner of the Lions Club Oppenheim.
Kana Takeuchi attended several master classes at the "International Chamber Music Week" at the Thuringia Summer Academy with Prof. Tatevik Mokatsian, "17th International Festival Duchi d'Acquaviva" by Pasquale Iannone, "Accademia del Ridotto" with Andrzej Jasiński, "Austrian Master Classes" with Ao.Univ.Professor Gereon Kleiner.a.o., with Endre Hegedűs, Prof. Haruko Kasama, Prof. Megumi Masaki and Dina Joffe.
In 2010 she performed with the "Polish Silesian Philharmonic Orchestra" and in 2013 with the Hochschule für Musik Mainz. In 2016 she performed with "Junge Sinfoniker Frankfurt" and in 2019 with "Tenri City Orchestra".
In 2019 she gave a "Ghibli Film Music Tour" in 14 cities in China.
As a répétiteur, she participated in 2013 in the international Klezmer and Tango workshop under the artistic direction of Giora Feidman & Raul Jaurena and from 2014 to 2016 in the international master class "Klezmer Masterclass" under the artistic direction of Giora Feidman and Enrique Ugarte.
Since 2017 she accompanies the workshop for oboe and horn and in 2020 additionally for trumpet as a répétiteur at the Hochschule für Musik Mainz.
Since 2019 she has formed a successful piano duo together with Prof. Burkhard Schaeffer.
Since 2013 she has ben an assistant lecturer at the Mainz University of Music.
She also gives concerts in Germany, Austria, Italy, China and Japan.
